The importance of prayer, both individually and corporately cannot be over-emphasized. It is one of the cornerstones of our praise and worship, and is our way of talking direct to our Lord and Saviour. We hold prayer meetings before our Sunday services. We also hold a Prayer Meeting on Tueday evenings. We also have a prayer cascade so that we can pray immediately for anyone who is in urgent need or crisis in their lives.
In the absence of a pastor, the Chapel is overseen by our deacons, Richard, Lyndon and Mark. They jointly oversee the pastoral care, administration and leadership of the church. Indiviually, Richard organises the pulpit supply schedule, audio recording of sermons and maintains the church garden, whilst Lyndon is the treasurer, looks after the buildings and fabric, and leads the young people outreach and Mark is responsible for the website, prayer cascade, notices and deals with missionary matters.
Our Sunday School, SPARKS, meets every Sunday at 10:30am. We have stories, singing and other fun activities in our two groups (3-6 and 7-11), and it is an important place where the children can learn about God, what the Bible is, how that is important to us all today and they are able to ask questions about that.
Also, on the first Sunday of each month we hold JAM Packed, a fun-filled time for all the children.
In the school summer holidays we hold a week long Holiday Bible Club, which is completely free of charge
Young Person's Group
We run a separate class, IGNITE, for the 12 - 18 age group.
Our aim is to teach them to study the bible and pray so that they can grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus and be salt and light in their everyday lives.
Here at Storrington Chapel we believe that it is important to try to support various groups involved in evangilising missionary work not only through prayer, but financially too. Therefore, we specifically use moneys collected during the breaking of bread in such a way.
Whilst we are unable to celebrate communion together during the Covid-19 outbreak, the deacons have decided to continue to provide support to the mission organisations on our monthly rota by donating the £250 to whichever group we should be supporting that month.
This month we will be supporting the work of Julian Rebera with New Life Church in Moulsecoomb.

It is our role, as an evangelical church, to spread our Lord's word to the local area. We have regular outreach through various children's and youth clubs. Additionally, we have taken stalls at the Duck Race, promoting our youth work and Holiday Bible Club, and at the Storrington Christmas late night shopping evening to promote our Carols-by-Candlelight and Christmas services.
"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you." Matthew 28:19-20
