OUR CHURCH

Our aim is to be a warm, friendly, caring group of Bible believing Christians.

We are a small church with a mix of young and old, families and individuals, and we try to give a special welcome both to visitors and those wanting, perhaps for the first time, to know about the amazing truths to be found in the Bible.

In doctrine the Chapel is evangelical, believing that a true knowledge of, and acceptance by God is only possible through faith in Jesus Christ, and that the Bible is the only authority for faith and practice.

All of our activities are centered on the worship of the Living God and the passing on of the Good News (the Gospel) of our Lord Jesus Christ.

We observe the two ordinances of Baptism and the Lord's Supper.  We practice believer's baptism by immersion, believing that baptism should only be administered to those who have professed faith in Jesus Christ and who are willing to give themselves to Him in service. As commanded by Christ, we remember His death by meeting together at the Lord's Supper. All who acknowledge Jesus Christ as their Saviour and Lord are welcome to share with us at His table.

The Chapel oversight normally consists of a Pastor, Elders and Deacons according to the Biblical model.  At present, whilst we seek the Lord's guidance regarding a new Pastor, the deacons have daily oversight of the Chapel.  Formal Membership is offered to those who can sincerely testify to their conversion to Christ, and who are willing to accept the Chapel's Statement of Faith and are prepared to abide by its principles. Membership entitles a person to participate in the decision making process of the church.

We are non-denominational, are a partner church of the Sussex Gospel Partnership and are affiliated to the FIEC (Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches).
